So what is it like to be a diehard Yankees fan in the heart of Phillies country, especially now?
CBS 2 HD went to the Philadelphia area to find out.
Leaving your house dressed head to toe in Yankees gear is no big deal, unless you are Megan Marshall and you live where she does in tiny Avondale just south of Philadelphia.
"I don't think there's a single neighbor around here, not that there are many, who are not Philly fans but boy it puts a big smile on my face," Marshall said.
When this Bronx Native got a job as a data analyst in Philly five years ago her true blue Yankees loyalty did not change.
CBS 2 HD went shopping with Marshall dressed in Yankees gear. When asked she thought we'd encounter, Marshall replied, "a lot of quiet people."
So to the village store we went to mix it up with very down-hearted Phillies fan Taylor Purcell.
"A lot of my friends were crying last night," Purcell said, adding when asked what he thought of Marshall's Yankees-clad get-up, "Yeah, it hurts a little."
So Marshall was there to rub it in. Did she feel like maybe she was being a little mean? You bet she did.
"Just a little, just a little. All in fun," she said.
"It was a close game. They definitely gave it away. I was not happy with the coaching," Purcell added.
Marshall said she's sorry she can't make it to Manhattan for all the festivities, but she's happy to be a one-woman parade in a red town where the other baseball fans are blue.
