Despite Injuries, Burress Participates In Practice

CBS 2 HD Super Bowl Coverage

TEMPE, AZ (CBS) ― Injuries to New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress' right ankle and swelling in his left knee didn't prevent him from participating in the practice, which was his first since arriving in Arizona. Burress also ran a few routes to test out his legs. He is listed as questionable for Super Bowl XLII on Sunday.

"He did run a few things in individual," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. "He ran a couple of slants. He took a play in the 'green' zone and that was about all we did with him."

All of the Giants' players participated in a 50-minute walk-through, which included stretching, and sessions for the special teams, defense and offense.

According to pool reporter Mike Sando, Burress "participated in the walk-through without limitation."

Defensive end Osi Umenyiora was unable to practice Friday due to a sore thigh, but he is listed as probable.

Cornerback Kevin Dockery and guard Rich Seubert participated in their second consecutive days of practice and are listed as probable for the Super Bowl. Dockery missed four of the past five games with a hip flexor. Seubert went down with a knee injury in the second half of the 23-20 victory over Green Bay in the NFC Championship game.

"We're excited and we're ready to go," Coughlin said. "It's been a nice week in terms of working up to (the game) and we find ourselves right here, so we're looking forward to it."
