It's not your average New York City taxi, like the typical yellow cabs seen here. The Solar Taxi, powered by the sun, is scheduled to make a stop in the city today as part of its trip around the world.

The Solar Taxi, powered by the sun, is scheduled to make a stop in the city today as part of its trip around the world.
Louis Palmer, the Swiss schoolteacher who designed it, says he hasn't spent a penny on gas.
Palmer is expected to promote clean transportation when he makes an appearance at The Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum.
