Gospel Singer Wright Remains In Critical Condition

NEW YORK (AP) ― The Rev. Timothy Wright, the Grammy-nominated gospel singer from Brooklyn, remains in critical condition at a Pennsylvania hospital three weeks after a car crash killed his wife and grandson.

Wright's son David says Wright is still on a respirator but is conscious and alert.

Relatives say they told Wright on Monday about his wife's death. His son says Wright took the news "pretty well."

The family hopes to move the 61-year-old Wright to a rehabilitation facility next week.

Wright's car was hit head-on July 4 by a motorist driving the wrong way on a Pennsylvania highway. The other driver was killed.
