A man suspected in the stray-bullet shooting of a 2-year-old boy in the Bronx has a court appearance today.
Nicholas Morris has been jailed without bail since last week following his arraignment on murder charges in the Easter Sunday killing.
Morris has pleaded not guilty.
Police said Morris and a friend opened fire at a group of men from across the street just as a minivan carrying David Pacheco Jr. drove past. They say one of the five bullets fired pierced the van's side door and struck the boy in the chest.
Morris turned himself in Tuesday. Police are still searching for Morris' alleged accomplice, Ronell Gilliam.
The boy was buried over the weekend.
"He was real good, an angel, you know, a real sweet kid, always come to the house, play around with my little son," said family member Richie Fontanez.

The pastor's words resonated strongly with Ida Jimenez, a supporter of the family.
"It's true what he says, they should keep guns off the streets -- period," Jimenez said." The same way they do with drugs, they should do with guns. There should be a law about the guns, that's how I feel."
