Jury Gets Gotti Racketeering Case
Deliberations Under Way
NEW YORK (AP) ―
A federal jury has gotten the racketeering case against John Junior Gotti. The jury began deliberations late yesterday in Manhattan federal court.
Gotti is facing several charges including racketeering and kidnapping of radio talk show host Curtis Sliwa. Sliwa was kidnapped and beaten in 1992 by mobsters, reportedly because he used his radio program to bash Junior Gotti's father, John "Dapper Don" Gotti.
The defense says Junior Gotti dropped out of the mob after he served time in prison on another case.
The defense says the prosecution has based it's entire case on the testimony of other mobsters who have been promised leniency if they testified against Gotti.
