Authorities say a 4-year-old girl is okay after she fell into a gap between a Long Island Rail Road train and a platform at Penn Station in Manhattan and landed on a track.
Hundreds of rush hour commuters heard Brittany Walker shriek from under the train Wednesday. Family friend Walter Casey tried to pull her up but couldn't.
Police cut the power and got Brittany out about 15 minutes later.
Police say she is bruised, but otherwise uninjured.
Brittany and her family are from Mississippi but have been displaced by Hurricane Katrina and are living in Huntington on Long Island.
Last month, an 18-year-old woman from Minnesota was struck and killed by a train in the LIRR station in Queens after she fell into the platform gap while stepping off another train.
