Mold Problem At A Rockland School
GARNERVILLE (CBS) ―
Dozens of students and staff members of a Rockland elementary school have been removed from their classrooms after high levels of mold was found.
A number of them had complained about feeling sick, so the administration at North Garnerville Elementary School called Indoor Air Care to test the air. They found higher-than-normal levels of both stachybotrys and aspengillus/penicillium spores.
Notes have been sent home to parents, and students have been put in other parts of the building.
The problem appears to be caused by leaks in a ceiling valve that had been repaired once before. The area is expected to be cleaned up over the school break next week.
