A light-rail train traveling between Bergen and Hudson counties collided with a New Jersey Transit bus near the end of rush hour Friday night, sending at least 12 people to the hospital, some with serious injuries.
N.J. Transit spokesman Dan Stessel said the collision occurred around 6:45 p.m. in Weehawken. Stessel did not have immediately have further details about the crash, but said the operators of both vehicles were among those hurt.
None of the injuries, though, appeared to be life-threatening, he said.
The bus was traveling on the 190 Line, which goes between Paterson and New York with stops in Clifton, Passaic, Rutherford, Secaucus and Union City. It wasn't immediately known whether the bus was going into or out of New York.
