Three LI Teens Charged With Arson Attempt

WEST HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) ― Three Long Island teenagers have been arrested for what police say was a botched attempt to burn down a house using Molotov cocktails.

According to Nassau County police, the trio threw homemade bombs at the West Hempstead home of the ex-girlfriend of one of the teens on Sept. 7, 2007.

The incendiary devices fizzled and did not cause any damage.

Nineteen-year-old Steven Cruz, 17-year-old Marcus Spocinski and 18-year-old Joseph Torres were all charged with attempted arson. Spocinski and Torres have also been charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
