L.I. Teacher Charged With Having Sex With Teen

Heather Kennedy, 25, a Long Island math teacher, is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old boy in a car.

A math teacher at Wantagh High School is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old boy in a car.
Nassau County police say 25-year-old Heather Kennedy of Massapequa was arrested Wednesday evening at her home on charges of third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child.
The name of her lawyer could not immediately be determined.
Police say Kennedy responded to a late night text message on March 19 from the student. She allegedly left her home and spent 3 hours with the teen before going to the parking lot of Massapequa High School where the two had sex in the back of his car. The boy's father called police the next day, after his son told him why he was late getting home.
Wantagh schools Superintendent Carl Bonuso said that Kennedy, who has been a teacher for 3 years, has been reassigned outside the classroom pending the outcome of the investigation.
Kennedy was released after her parents posted her $35,000 bond order. She has no prior arrests and had been a well-regarded teacher at Wantagh High School for three years
