ROSLYN, N.Y. (CBS/AP) ― The widow of mob boss John Gotti was being treated Wednesday at a Long Island hospital, where she was admitted after reportedly becoming ill at her daughter's Old Westbury home.

Victoria Gotti, 64, was being treated at St. Francis Hospital, but spokeswoman Sherry Friedman said she was prohibited by state and federal privacy laws from commenting on when Gotti was admitted, what she was being treated for, or what her current condition might be.

Gotti suffered a stroke in November at her home in Howard Beach, Queens, and a second one last month, Newsday reported. Two weeks ago, she underwent surgery to have a stent inserted in her brain to relieve a blood vessel blockage, the newspaper said.

Her daughter, also named Victoria, told the New York Post that her mother became ill on Monday night.

"I was making dinner for my mother at my house where she's been staying in Old Westbury," the former reality-TV star said. "Suddenly my mother said, 'I'm not feeling well."'

On their way to St. Francis, her mother complained she was having difficulty breathing.

The elder Gotti was given oxygen and her condition seemed to be improving Tuesday night, the newspaper said.

A Gotti family attorney did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment.
