Biker Faces Felony Charge In Threatening Text Case
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) ―
A man identified by the FBI as a member of a western New York motorcycle club has been accused of threatening a rival biker in text messages.
Federal prosecutors say 39-year-old Ronald Blair of Lancaster faces a felony charge of transmitting threats to injure another person.
According to court papers, Blair was arrested on a gun possession charge last month after he had argued with another man at a suburban Buffalo bar.
FBI agents say Blair is a member of the Kingsmen motorcycle club, while the other man's brother is a member of the Chosen Few, a rival motorcycle club.
Authorities accuse Blair of sending a series of threatening text messages to one of the man's friends earlier this month.
His lawyer says authorities "should be ashamed of prosecuting" such a case.
