There was high level security scare for Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Monday.
"I took the subway here today," Bloomberg said.
That was his honor in Brooklyn earlier Monday, before taking the train back to Manhattan for an afternoon of work at City Hall.
He was changing from the A train to the I, R, T, 4 and 5 here at Fulton and Broadway when the trouble started about 1:20 p.m.
What sources describe as an emotionally disturbed person struck one of the uniformed police officers assigned to the mayor's subway detail.
Although the two men grappled on the platform, most of the other people in the station didn't even notice anything had happened. The alleged assailant and the officer were taken to Bellevue where both are in stable condition.
