Police Are Called After Cat Attacks Owners In NYC
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
A cat with medical issues attacked her owners in New York City and had to be removed by the police.
The incident happened Saturday afternoon at the midtown apartment of Rosa Davila and her son, Victor Marte.
Davila said her 10-year-old cat, Carmen, suddenly launched herself at Marte and started attacking him like a wild animal.
Davila called 911 and police responded and corralled the cat into a carrier.
Davila said the cat has been diagnosed with diabetes and a thyroid condition but she couldn't afford to pay for treatment.
The cat is now at the Animal Care and Control Center.
Animal Care & Control of New York City "is the largest pet organization in the North East, with an estimated number of 43,000 animals rescued each year. As a not-for-profit organization since 1995, Animal Care & Control has been responsible for New York City's municipal shelter system, rescuing, caring for, and finding loving homes for homeless and abandoned animals in New York City."
