Central Park Wireless Network Gets Speed Boost

  Slideshow: New York City Landmarks

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Next time you find yourself in Central Park's Sheep Meadow, feel free to hop onto the Information Superhighway at full speed.

Park officials say the wireless Internet service in that part of the park has been upgraded to 15 megabits per second. Previously, the Internet service ran at 3 mbps

That means that up to 70 laptop users can download movies or music without a noticeable loss of speed.

Seventeen parks in the city offer wireless service, but Central Park's Sheep Meadow is the first to go high speed.
