A suburban New York police officer has been found guilty of possessing child pornography.
Anthony Rypka, an officer in Tarrytown in Westchester County, is being held without bail until his sentencing on Jan. 5. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
Rypka, who has four children, was found guilty Tuesday in Manhattan federal court.
Investigators say they found some 50 images of child pornography on Rypka's home computer and two small storage drives. One of the drives was found in his hat at the Tarrytown police station.
During trial, his attorney said Rypka viewed adult pornography online but was unaware of any with children on his computer.
