NJ Man Sentenced For Sharing Child Porn Online
PATERSON, N.J. (CBS) ―
A Passaic County man has been sentenced to three years in state prison after pleading guilty to distributing child pornography over the Internet.
At sentencing Friday, 21-year-old Kevin Scully of North Haledon also was ordered to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law.
Scully was among more than three dozen people arrested in October 2007 as part of "Operation Silent Shield," an investigation that targeted Internet distribution of child pornography.
Scully pleaded guilty in March, admitting that he used Internet file sharing software to make available video clips containing child pornography.
New Jersey state police are authorized to make information about certain sex offenders available to the public online.
