Friend Who Drove Rockefeller Speaks Out

Woman Who Drove Pair From Boston To New York Says She Was Duped Into Role

NEW YORK (CBS) ― A woman who says she unwittingly became part of Clark Rockefeller's plan to abduct his own daughter has come forward as investigators continue to uncover new clues in the search for the missing girl.

Rockefeller recently exchanged cash for gold, according to the Boston Globe, and detectives think that may have been part of an elaborate plan to flee the country with his 7-year-old daughter, Reigh.

Since Sunday, when Rockefeller allegedly abducted Reigh during a supervised visit in Boston, police have been flooded with tips of possible sightings, including one on Wednesday at a car dealership in Delaware.

A woman there said she saw a little girl wearing a flowered dress, possibly one of two outfits police say Rockefeller bought his daughter.

Meanwhile, authorities are questioning the owner of an SUV in which Rockefeller and his daughter first sped away. Aileen Ang, a family friend who later drove Rockefeller from Boston to Manhattan, says she had no idea what he was planning.

"She was actually saying, it was kind of like, 'I love you too much, Daddy,' and he would just respond, 'I love you even more.' So it was kind of, I thought it was normal," she told WBZ Radio in Boston.

Ang said it wasn't until after she dropped them off that she realized something was wrong.

"Right when they got out of the car one of my friends called me, and he was like, 'Did you know this guy is wanted on the Amber Alert?' And I went, 'I just dropped them off like a second ago,'" she said.

There's still not much known about Rockefeller's past. Some knew him as a physicist, others as a mathematician, and other were told he worked in finances. But despite his claims, a Rockefeller family spokesman insists he is not a descendant of John D. Rockefeller.
