Woman Who Allegedly Killed Husband Posts Bail

Police say Marlene Mackenzie killed her husband with a heavy cocktail glass in their North Caldwell home.

An elderly woman from New Jersey accused of killing her husband returned home after posting bail.
Police said Marlene Mackenzie, 76, got into a heated argument with her 80-year-old husband Robert Thursday morning, accusing him of
cheating on her.
They said Mrs. Mackenzie, had been drinking when she threw a heavy cocktail glass at him inside their North Caldwell home.
She called 911, but it was too late. Mr. Mckensie died later at the hospital. She posted $20,000 bail.
Mackenzie's charged with aggravated assault but prosecutors said the charges will be upgraded to reckless manslaughter.
"They were a terrific couple. Known them since we were here. Almost forty years," neighbor Jerry Olhm said.
"I would not think it wasn't intentional. I think in the heat of the moment. And it hit him. It probably wasn't meant to hit him," neighbor Lois Palko said.
