NEW YORK (CBS) ― It's a great day for retailers.

Some analysts are predicting consumers will spend roughly $700 million in cyberspace this Cyber Monday.

Perhaps it's not such a good day for employers of those shoppers. Employers will reportedly lose $488 million in productivity as their employees purchase all the latest toys, books and other items to finish out their holiday shopping.

Many retailers are offering great deals and free shipping. For Macys.Com, Cyber Monday is one of the largest shopping days of the year, enticing consumers with web-busters and free shipping on orders of $75 dollars or more.

Toys R Us is holding a one-day online sale while it's rival E-Toys.Com is launching a two-day sale.

Walmart is offering laptops as low as $450 And Circuit City is holding a 3-day online sale in which you can save an extra 10-percent on everything.

And dozens of other stores are offering free shipping including: Target, Amazon, Sears and Crate & Barrel.

And if you are among the millions who will be spending their holiday budget on-line, there are some ways to protect yourself from things like identity thief and fraud.
