Young Suspect Arrested In Bronx Murder Case

John Hopkins-Drago was found dead and left inside a plastic bag in the Bronx.

The NYPD arrested a teenager in the murder and dismemberment of a Bronx man. The 15-year-old suspect, Sharell Butler, was charged with murder, manslaughter and assault.
The victim, 22-year-old John Hopkins-Drago, was found dead last weekend at an apartment building on Barnes Avenue, with multiple stab wounds to his neck and head. His mutilated remains body were discovered Sunday in a plastic bag in the the building's alleyway.
Drago lived just blocks away with relatives.
"They found the body in a shopping cart, chopped up, right here in the back of this building," said neighbor Arthur Alston.
For a week, police had asked for the public's assistance in finding the killer. They have not yet released a motive in this brutal killing.
In addition to the arrest of Butler, the NYPD arrested another man from Pelham Parkway. James Medina, 23, was accused of hindering the prosecution of this case by tampering with the crime scene. He is also charged with possession of marijuana.
