NEW YORK (CBS) ―

Radio Personality Don Imus makes his return to the airwaves December 3, after an eight month "unemployment" period sparked by racist and sexist remarks about the Rutgers' women basketball team.
It was a comment about the Rutgers women's basketball team that sparked outrage and an uproar that made it seem very improbable, Imus would ever return to the airwaves.
But starting Monday morning at 6:00 a.m. Imus and his new station WABC have a new show with new people alongside him, including according to published reports, Harlem resident Karith Foster as well as some of his former team.
The Rutger's women's basketball team even sat down with Imus and his wife at the governor's mansion just after the April firing.
"They gave us the opportunity to listen to what they had to say and why they're hurting and these women are unbelievable, courageous and beautiful women," said Deidre Imus.
"Honestly, we're going to take it from this point and turn it into something positive. It's not about hate. It's not about anger. It's about an understanding and we've got the attention of the nation here," coach Stringer said.
Now the nation's attention is once again on the shock jock, perhaps wondering if he has learned a lesson as he heads back to the airwaves and according to his new employer, he is rested, fired up and ready to do great radio.
Imus's new show runs from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. There's no word yet who his sponsors are and exactly what we can expect from his new format.
