A judge has a warning for rap star Foxy Brown: Be in court, or you'll be in jail. Foxy didn't show up to face her sentencing Monday on an assault charge from 2004. According to her attorney, Foxy won't be on stage Tuesday but will be making an appearance before the judge.
If Foxy Brown doesn't come to court, she won't be rapping. Instead, she could be singing the blues.
An angry Manhattan judge warned a lawyer for the rap star that she will be arrested and thrown in jail for a year if she misses another court appearance. Foxy didn't show up Monday for her sentencing on assault charges.
Foxy, whose real name is Inga Marchand, pleaded guilty in August to misdemeanor assault charges stemming from a fight with salon workers over a manicure in 2004.
According to prosecutors, the 26-year-old rapper kicked one employee and smacked another in a fight over the bill.
The judge already has rejected a motion by the Brooklyn native to withdraw her guilty plea, warning that if she fails to show up Tuesday, the plea deal sparing her jail time would be thrown out.
According to an attorney for the rap star, she will be in court in Lower Manhattan.
The plea deal requires Foxy to serve three years probations and take anger management classes.
Monday was actually the second missed court date for Foxy Brown. In August, the judge issued a warrant for her arrest after a hurricane left brown stranded in the Bahamas.
