GOP presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani says a Democratic president would raise taxes and ravage the economy.
The former New York City mayor says he, instead, would lower taxes, make permanent President Bush's tax cuts and eliminate inheritance taxes.
Giuliani voiced his opinions at a town hall meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Democrats took issue with Giuliani's approach. A spokeswoman for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton says that if Giuliani is attacking Clinton for wanting to change Bush's economic policies and his Iraq policyhe's right, she will."
Clinton spokeswoman Kathleen Strand says the senator knows that the Bush-Cheney economic policies "are wrong and their stay-the-course strategy in Iraq is wrong for America."
