Police: Couple Leaves Toddler At Hotel For Heist

A 2-year-old is now in the care of state child welfare officials after his parents allegedly left him in a hotel room to burglarize a Weehawken home.

Police said a couple left their 2-year-old son alone in a hotel room while they tried to burglarize a home in Weehawken.
Gabriel Espino and Marsha Castillo are charged with seven burglaries and child endangerment.
Police said the pair told them about the boy after their arrests.
Authorities said the child was crying and had bruises on his head and scars on his body. He's now in the care of state child welfare officials.
Police also said they found laptops, video games and other electronics in the room.
