A Long Island hunter faces reckless endangerment charges after police say he accidentally shot another hunter in upstate New York.
State police say 52-year-old Robert Robar of Valley Stream was hunting Tuesday in the Sullivan County town of Lumberland when he mistook Terry Pelton for a deer and discharged one round. After realizing he'd wounded Pelton, Robar brought him to a hospital.
Pelton, 50, was taken to Westchester Medical Center. His condition wasn't immediately available.
Robar was arraigned and sent to Sullivan County jail.
State police and jail officials didn't know if he had an attorney and the court clerk was unavailable.
Westchester Medical Center serves 3.5 million people in New York's Hudson
Valley region.
