Intrepid Going Out Of Water For Body Makeover

SLIDESHOW: The U.S.S. Intrepid On The Move

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) ― The U.S.S. Intrepid is set to leave the Bayonne Military Ocean Terminal today and go into an adjacent dry dock.

That's where the floating military museum will undergo a makeover.

More than 6,500 gallons of paint will be used to cover the World War II-era ship from bow to stern.

Intrepid's four solid bronze 30-ton propellers will be removed. Two will be offered to the public for sponsorship.
