Lawyers for Isiah Thomas get to play defense today as they begin their case in the sex harassment lawsuit against Thomas and Madison Square Garden.
A former executive - Anucha Browne Sanders - is suing Thomas, who is the Knicks coach and president - for sexual harassment. Her attorneys rested their case after four days of testimony portraying Thomas as a foul-mouthed lout who loathed and then loved her.
Jeffrey Nixa 15-year employee of the NBA teamtestified on Tuesday about a series of 2004 conversations he had with Sanders. Sanders said Thomas repeated cursed at her and treated her with contempt.
Sanders is suing Thomas and Madison Square Garden for $10 million in a sexual harassment suit that also seeks reinstatement to the job that she held for five years.
Browne Sanders joined the Knicks in late 2000 as vice president of marketing and business operations. She claims she was fired in January 2006 after she complained to MSG management.
MSG Chairman James Dolan testified that the decision to fire Sanders was his alone.
