Exclusive: Juror No. 3 In Isiah Case Speaks Out

Woman Says Accuser More Believable, MSG Too Casual

By Dave Carlin, CBS 2 News
(CBS) Juror No. 3 had no comment Tuesday as she left the courthouse following the announced verdict in the Isiah Thomas sexual harassment trial. However, CBS 2 HD was later granted an exclusive interview as she opened up about what went on inside the jury room.

"It got a little tense," she said. "We went around and around."

As juror No. 3 let us in on secrets from deliberations she admitted that during the trial from her front row seat in the jury box she liked both of the key players in this trial -- accuser Anucha Browne Sanders and the man she said harassed her, Knicks coach Thomas.

"She was very brave," the juror said. "I would have to say she was a very courageous woman.

"He was charming. He was a charming human being."

Much of the trial was "he said, she said," but the juror admitted she was put off by videotaped depositions in which she found MSG head James Dolan and Thomas "too casual." Later, they seemed very different on the stand, more professional and ... "they both contradicted themselves."

"When they contradict themselves then you kind of you eliminate that part," she said. "They just didn't act quickly enough. I just don't think they paid enough attention to her."

She said corporation big shots need to be more respectful of employees. She said that's why Madison Square Garden must pay and not Thomas personally.

"I think now they'll pay more attention," juror No. 3 said.

She also said even without that one piece of evidence she would call a "smoking gun" it boiled down to the jury believing Browne Sanders.

"She had witnesses and she had documentation," the juror said. "We went with all the witnesses.

She kept it a secret that she was on this particular trial, even from her own family. They found out Tuesday along with everyone else.

"I'm glad to have my life back and my life back on track," she said.
