A New Jersey teen that was attacked while she was sleeping in her bed fought back against violent robbers. Now police are on the hunt for the two men.
"I was just scared. It's all a blur," Karina Tesone told CBS 2 HD on Monday.
Tesone, 19, can barely see out of her right eye. It's only been two days since a pair of brazen crooks broke into her Clifton home in broad daylight and beat her unconscious.
"He was like don't scream. Do what I say. Where's your money?" she said. "And when I tried to resist him and told him that he started punching me. I think he's a righty because he was punching me on this side."
Tesone was home alone at noon Saturday when the crooks broke in through an unlocked window and began ransacking her home.
When they saw Tesone inside they tied her up, held a knife to her and beat her.
"Then he starts choking me and puts his arm around my neck," Tesone said.
The men left Tesone unconscious and bleeding in her bedroom and continued their crime spree, stuffing jewelry and family heirlooms in duffle bags.
Tesone woke up a short time later and heard the men coming back to her room.
Bleeding and dazed she crawled to her bedroom door and held it shut.
"I thought I have to keep the door closed. I don't know how but I felt someone pushing in," Tesone said.
Tesone's parents came home moments later, surprising the thieves, who took their stolen loot and ran out the front door.
"That's something I won't forget, seeing my daughter coming down the stairs with a black eye, bleeding mouth, crying," said Marcos Tesone, the victim's father.
Police don't believe the men are connected with other crimes in the area, but said they are armed, dangerous and still on the loose.
Several witnesses saw the men running away from the home, but police have only vague descriptions of the suspects.
