Horrific LIE Crash Caught On Video
by Hazel Sanchez
OLD WESTBURY (CBS) ―
A camera mounted inside a passenger bus was rolling as the driver of an 18-wheeler lost control along the Long Island Expressway and slammed into a bus, pinning a car.
When the chaos settled, the car was trapped under the wreckage. Under the truck and smashed against the concrete median was a mangled Audi TT, and it's driver, Bryan Pacelli, was miraculously alive!
Pacelli said, "Unfortunately, I don't remember an ounce of the accident."
But his unbelievable survival is one that won't soon be forgotten by Classic Transportation's bus driver and passengers. Their shocking view was captured by an event recorder called "DriveCam".
The camera records both the driver and the driver's view when sensors detect erratic driving behavior.
According to Bill Shoolman, "You're driving, and if you alter the G force by a certain amount by swerving the wheel or jamming on the breaks. DriveCam creates an event."
In this accident, Classic Transportation said the camera recording proved their bus driver did nothing wrong.
In the end, the tractor-trailer driver was cited for among other things, bald tires and driving a truck 16,000 pounds overweight.
It's an amazing turn of events that this 37-year-old father of two, and his wife are grateful he could live to tell.
Pacelli said, "Never thought about that kind of an accident."
His wife, Kelly Pacelli, said, "I just looked at the car and [he's] lucky to be alive is all I could think. It's a miracle."
