NYPD: Mail Truck Strikes, Kills Young Brooklyn Boy

BROOKLYN (AP) ― An 8-year-old Brooklyn boy out for a bicycle ride with his father was killed when he was hit by a mail truck.

Alexander Toulouse and his father were riding in Brooklyn Heights Saturday afternoon when the truck turned a corner and struck him. Witnesses said the driver did not seem to realize he had hit the child.

Police said the boy was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver stayed at the scene and was not charged.
