Ex-Boss, Lover Of Suspect Testifies In Her Trial
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (CBS/AP) ―
Middlesex County jurors at the trial of the woman accused of slaying and dismembering are hearing from her former lover.
Doctor Bradley Miller says Melanie McGuire engaged in oral sex with him when she was 38 weeks pregnant. McGuire was a nurse in his Morristown office.
Miller says he and McGuire had planned to leave their spouses and start a new life together. But that never happened.
Authorities say McGuire killed her husband, William, instead.
Suitcases containing parts of his body washed up along the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia in 2004.
Her defense lawyers have not said whether McGuire will testify on her own behalf in the trial, which is now in its third week.
Miller ended up cooperating with police in the case.
The trial is now in its third week.
