Ramapo police say a former Rockland County prosecutor gave beer and marijuana to teens, and engaged in sexual acts with them.

A judge has offered a plea deal to a former Queens and Rockland County prosecutor accused of having sex and joining in pot parties with teenagers. The deal offered Wednesday would put Beth Modica behind bars for one to three years for pleading guilty to rape and criminal sex act charges.
But Modica's lawyer is pushing for probation. He says the guilty plea alone would result in punishments that could be worse than prison.
Lawyer Gerard Damiani says his 44-year-old client would have to register as a sex offender, could lose her law license and could have custody troubles. She has four children.
Rockland County Court Judge Catherine Bartlett has scheduled another plea negotiation session later this month.
If convicted, Modica could face up to four years in prison.
