Boat Collision Off Long Island Injures 5

NEW YORK (AP) ― Five people are recovering from a boat collision in the waters off Long Island.

Police in Nassau County say a 29-foot motorboat hit a 22-footer in Merrick on Saturday afternoon.

The collision, near Sloop Channel, injured Michael Marron, of Seaford; Scott Hogan, of Manhattan; and James Ford, of Seaford. Police say they were treated for cuts.

On the other boat, John Bzezinski suffered cuts and bruises, and Karen Bzezinski injured her back. Both are from Oyster Bay Cove.
