Biker, Passenger Die In Crash On NY Highway
ROME, N.Y. (CBS) ―
Authorities said a motorcyclist and his passenger are dead after a crash on a central New York highway.
Oneida County deputies said Robert Williams Jr. of Whitesboro and passenger Sherry Moulton of Oriskany died in the accident Thursday night. Both were 40 years old.
Williams was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson when he passed a dump truck and then slammed into a car that was making a left hand turn into a driveway. Deputies say the driver had his turn signal on.
Deputies say Williams and Moulton were thrown off the motorcycle.
Williams died at Rome Memorial Hospital. Moulton died at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.
The driver of the car and his passenger suffered only minor injuries.
Rome, N.Y. has a population of 34,950.
