Asbestos Truck Overturns On Queens Expressway

Northbound Lanes Near LIE Closed As Crews Clean Mess

QUEENS (CBS) ― Northbound lanes near the Long Island Expressway have been closed as
workers clean the area after a truck carrying asbestos overturned on an expressway in Queens, CBS 2 HD has learned.

The truck hit a divider on the Clearview Expressway before flipping over on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Investigators say the truck's driver fled on foot.

The cause of the accident is still unknown. No injuries have been reported.
