A group of protesters rallied outside Madison Square Garden in Manhattan to protest the Sean Bell verdict.
The crowd of about 50 protesters briefly blocked off a busy intersection at 7th Avenue and 34th Street shortly before 7 p.m. Port Authority police were able to persuade the protesters to move, and they regrouped on Seventh Avenue in front of the arena.
Last week, a Queens judge acquitted three NYPD officers in the fatal 50-shot killing of Bell on his wedding day. Two of his friends were seriously wounded.
The officers said they believed the men had a gun and feared for their lives; Bell and his two friends were unarmed.
