NAACP Speaks Out After Sean Bell Verdict

Calls For Policy Changes Among The NYPD

NEW YORK (CBS) ― City NAACP leaders said they are outraged by the verdict in the Sean Bell manslaughter trial, and will continue to work to see justice done.

"We all can continue to see this through as William Bell has asked that his son's legacy not be in his death but in seeing that this never happens again, in saying enough is enough," Ken Cohen from the NAACP said.

The organization's Staten Island chapter asked residents to sign letters which demand a change in the NYPD's policies and training.

It plans to send those letters to the police commissioner.
