Teens Arrested For Shirley 'Snake' Sodomy
SHIRLEY, N.Y. (CBS) ―
Two teenagers are under arrest on Long Island, accused in a disturbing and brutal attack at a bowling alley in Suffolk. Police say they sodomized an employee at AMF Bowling Centers' Shirley Lanes.
The details of what happened inside the bowling alley are stomach turning. A 21-year-old developmentally disabled janitor was sodomized with a plumbing tool that is commonly known as a "snake."
Police arrested 19-year-old Steven Rodriguez and 17-year-old Michael Lunsford, charging them with aggravated sexual abuse.
According to Michael Lunsford's sister, Rebecca Lunsford, "He lives with me. I'm with him everyday. He would not do this. He would never do this. They must have mistaken him for somebody else."
Rebecca Lunsford said her brother was arrested Wednesday, but says that police have the wrong man.
The pair is accused of following the victim into the bathroom at the Shirley Bowling Alley on Sunday night, and while one of them held the man down, the other assaulted the victim.
The victim suffered serious internal injuries and is recovering at the hospital.
Lunsford's sister says her brother, who recently finished a six-month jail term, was not in Shirley that night.
"I have five, six people that I just got off the phone with that know for a fact the he was in Ridge that night," she said.
