Double Shooting In The Bronx, 1 Dead
BRONX (CBS) ―
Police say, an altercation broke out in the Bronx, when two men confronted Vericio Vega, 22, and Leonicio Reyes, 21, on East 183rd Street and Creston Avenue.
The incident occurred just blocks away from the 46th precinct.
Officials say one of the suspects pulled a gun out and shot at one of the victims, striking him in the upper body. The gunmen fled the scene, as soon as, police arrived.
Police pursued the suspects on foot. Both were apprehended. Nicholas Talvert, 25, and Jonathan Baez, 19, both of the Bronx were arrested for the shooting.
The two victims were taken to St. Barnabas hospital.
Officials say Vega died.
Reyes is in critical condition.
