NEW YORK (CBS) ― After 86 episodes, the groundbreaking HBO drama "The Sopranos" is history. However, last night's series finale left many die-hard fans scratching their heads.

On Sunday, the stars of the show gathered at screenings in Florida and in New York City. The actors praised series creator David Chase for the way he chose to end the show, leaving the door wide open for a "Sopranos" movie.

Dominic Chianese, who played Corrado "Uncle Junior" Soprano, wasn't sure about how fans would react.

"I think they're going to be disappointed at first, but to me the way he ended it was kind of, I think, very interesting," he said.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who played Tony Soprano's daughter, Meadow, enjoyed the ending that Chase chose.

"I thought it was beautiful. I thought it was wonderful," she said.

(Alert: Spoiler follows)

The closing episode left loyal fans with as many questions as answers. The final scene showed Tony and his family gathering at a New Jersey diner filled with potential hit-men, while waiting for daughter Meadow to walk in the door.

But then the screen went dark, leaving viewers to wonder if the Sopranos got hit, if Tony goes to jail, or if he's going to take over as the big boss, following the shooting of Phil Leotardo.

"I can't believe that it's over," Sigler said.

Neither can loyal fans. Stay tuned.
