CONROE, TX (CBS) ― Think it's easy being Santa Claus? Well sometimes even Old Saint Nick has to deal with occupational hazards!

This "Santa" made an appearance at a Texas mall over the weekend.

Since there was no chimney, he was supposed to rappel down an 80-foot high sign, but he got stuck about 30 feet off the ground.

The problem: His beard got in the way!

"And what happened was his beard got caught in his rope-thing," one eyewitness said. "So then he couldn't get out, so then somebody threw him some scissors, and he started cutting his beard off, but then he was still stuck."

As children watched tearfully from below, emergency crews had to rescue the stuck Santa.
