Student Stabbed Near High School In Hell's Kitchen
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
A student from the High School of Graphic Communication Arts in Hell's Kitchen was rushed to a hospital Monday afternoon after being stabbed, CBS 2 has learned.
The victim, an 18-year-old male, was stabbed around 3:30 p.m. near the school at 50th Street and Ninth Avenue. He was transported to a local hospital and is said to be in critical condition.
Witnesses tell CBS 2 HD that the student was involved in a fight with a band of other teens, some of who were carrying sticks and two-by-fours. The teens were said to be quarreling over a girl.
Police are currently searching for the suspect and are questioning two people. The identities of the victim and the assailant have not been released.
The High School of Graphic Communication Arts is a vocational school located at 439 W. 49th Street between Ninth and Tenth avenues, across from Park West High School.
