The free vacation sounded too good to be true -- and it was.
Gabriela Carmona of Queens thought she had won a trip to the Dominican Republic by calling radio station 97.9 FM "La Mega."
But the trip cost $399 -- plus airfare. Now Carmona has sued La Mega's parent company, Spanish Broadcasting System Inc., and vacation promoter All Star Vacation Marketing Group.
According to the complaint, filed in Manhattan federal court, Carmona and her fiance were in their car on April 13 when La Mega's DJ announced a contest. Carmona says she called -- and learned about the price.
A spokeswoman for the Coconut Grove, Fla.-based Spanish Broadcasting System did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
No spokesman for Miami-based All Star Vacation Marketing Group was available for comment Wednesday.
