New Yorkers will celebrate the Yankees' 27th World Series title with what else? A parade!
That means a New York style salute Friday up the "Canyon of Heroes."
They've done it again, an unstoppable Yankees team has claimed its spot atop the sports world. As always, the Bombers have the unconditional support of their die hard fans.
"Tonight was awesome! We kicked Philly's butt. We kicked Philly's butt," said fan Angela Price.
That was the typical sentiment from fans all across the tri-state Wednesday night.
It was pure pandemonium outside the new Yankee Stadium. The icing on the cake? Silencing the Phillies' trash-talking.
"I'm so excited," said Woodley Rosier. "I live in Philly, I have to deal with their fans all my life. And I'm so happy they finally won. I have lifetime bragging rights."
While a nine year drought between titles may not seem like a long time for other teams, for the Yankees, it was an eternity.
"I love it. There's nothing sweeter than winning the World Series after nine tries," added Rosier.
And you'd better believe the Yankees know how to celebrate the right way. There's a parade, up the "Canyon of Heroes," planned for tomorrow.
A perfect ending to a perfect season.
