A Broomfield, Colo., man who was busted for trying to pass off a dummy as a passenger to use the HOV lane is on a mission, according to KCNC-TV, a CBS affiliate in Denver.
An officer pulled over Greg Pringle, 53, last week with a mannequin in the car. The officer ticketed Pringle and confiscated the doll.
Pringle is now trying to get his sidekick back, and has launched the Web site FreeTillie.com. Pringle is asking people to spread the word and even buy autographed T-shirts that read "I'm no dummy" and "I used to live life in the fastlane."
The following is the text that is presented on the homepage of FreeTillie.com next to a photo of the mannequin:
"I used to live life in the fast lane. Now I spend my days and nights in the evidence room at the Westminster Police Station where it is cold, dark and lonely.
I long for the plush accommodations a mannequin of my standing enjoys. If that is not enough, I find myself in the precarious position of being subjected to ... if you can believe it ... the humiliation of performing acts of common dummy routines."
