Yale Student Faces Voyeurism Charges

Allegedly Tape Sex Sessions With Unsuspecting Girl

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (CBS) ― A Yale student is facing serious charges after he was arrested and booked on criminal charges including voyeurism after allegedly filming himself having sex with his then-girlfriend before showing the steamy video to his friends.

Police say Casper Desfeux, a sophomore at the school, had sex with his girlfriend in front of an Apple notebook in his dormitory, with the tiny camera in the computer recording.

The woman, also a Yale student, told police she had no idea they were being filmed. Police say the woman brought the charges to prevent the sexually explicit video footage from being disseminated around the university or on the Internet.

The arrest warrant states she was "very emotionally upset" over the incident.

Desfeux then allegedly compounded his crime by sharing the video with friends. He told police he just wanted to see if his computer's camera worked. He said he hadn't sent the 45-minute video to anybody else because it would take too long to process.

The 20-year-old was arraigned Thursday in Connecticut Superior Court on charges of voyeurism and dissemination of voyeuristic material.

Police, meanwhile, took the laptop and camera and plan to send it to a state forensic lab for processing.
