Cops: Scorned NYC Woman Scorched Hubby's Genitals
Boiling Water Poured Over Private Parts; Man Admits Cheating Before But Says Wife Is 'A Very Doubtful Person'
New Yorkers React With Shock, Outrage And Even A Little Humor
QUEENS (CBS) ―
A boiling mad Queens woman is behind bars after she took matters into her own hands to stop her husband's infidelity.
She poured hot water on a very sensitive part of his body.
Inside his Queens home, Emmanuel Ojofietimi learned the hot way that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
"She came into the bedroom and poured hot water on me," Ojofeitimi said.
The target of her revenge: his genitals.
When asked if he was unfaithful to her, Ojofeitimi answered: "Not recently. Maybe 20 years ago, 15 years ago. She does not know how to give up and let go."
The Nigerian native was rushed to the hospital for burns not only to his genitals but his chest, arms and legs.
Defense attorney Jennifer Michaelson said her client had it tough.
"It appears he has been cheating on her over the course of many years," Michaelson said.
So enough was enough?
"I suppose so," Michaelson said.
This case was an eerie reminder of Lorena Bobbit, who exacted a painful price on a husband she suspected of cheating.
Women, especially, were stunned at hearing of this woman's revengeful wrath.
"Is this a joke?" asked Kew Gardens resident Stacey Tsemgoles.
"I just think that's a little crazy," another resident said.
Those who spoke with CBS 2 HD said that course of action was nothing they'd ever do.
When asked if she ever thought to do that on someone who might cheat on her, Flushing resident Jeanne Levis said: "No, never. There are other ways of getting back at somebody."
Bellport resident Jessie Maldanado said, "Maybe, but I wouldn't have gone through with it. I couldn't have done it."
Hearing that his girlfriend thought of that course of action, Jesse Davis said, "I think it's crazy she has that thought. I need to get that thought out of her head."
However, it's too late for this scorched husband and his scorned wife. When asked why he thought she believed he was cheating recently, Ojofeitimi answered: "I don't know. She's a very doubtful person."
As Ojofeitimi recovers at the hospital's burn unit, his wife is in jail, no doubt asking herself if her punishment for him fit his crime.
